No doubt you've heard or read that EBS snapshots are stored in Amazon S3. So where can they be found in S3?

Unfortunately, while EBS snapshots are stored in S3, it's at a technology level only. There are no S3 buckets that you can access that will show you your EBS snapshots.

The only way to access your EBS snapshots is to use the AWS Management Console, or AWS CLI.

The only way to access the contents of an EBS snapshot is to restore the EBS snapshot into an EBS volume, then attach that EBS volume to an EC2 instance.
